I used to be of the view that what was important in English is to get the point across. But that risks creating a sloppiness which means that people just get things wrong. An example from a blog today-
“How do I affect change” does not mean the same as “how do I effect change”. The two would be paraphrased completely differently, but high IQ people either don’t know that, or are willing to let their readers work it out.

My paraphases-
How do I have an impact on the change that is happening, vs
How do I make a change

just getting set for the European trip. Expectations from 3GSM are fairly high.

I might look at the “must blog quickly” phenomenon. why do people feel the need to be first, rather than thoughtful and right? blog as early warning system is great, and a good use case, but not adding enough value.

there are a bunch of themes I have found for this word press thing. I should get a new one, and should also work on creating my own. Gotta get that gallery thing up to speed too.

I have had various attempts at this blogging thing, I hope this makes more progress, now it is designed to be my main web presence.
